About Us
SLAB was founded on the basis of bringing you new flavors that may be a break from your traditional Texas BBQ. We bridge the taste bud gap of the Dirty South from Memphis, to the Carolinas, Alabama, and Texas. SLAB began as a food trailer in 2006, originally named Sugar Shack BBQ, and in August 2014 opened a brick and mortar location. We also offer catering.
"THIS IS IN THE TOP OF THE BEST BBQ SANDWICHES I'VE EVER HAD"
Guy Fieri goes to Austin, Texas, to a restaurant that serves BBQ sandwiches with a 90's hip-hop vibe. There, he tries out a sandwich he claims as "in the top of best BBQ sandwiches I've ever had."

Friendly staff, great drink selection, you get a lot of meat for what you pay. Love the ribs and the chicken sandwich. The nachos are not my favorite, but still great.
What a great BBQ experience. Loved the McDowell--an all rib meat sandwich and the wrap with brisket and chicken. Sides were solid, too: potato casserole with cheese and baked beans. Thanks for carrying Maine Root soda options...what a treat!
It was all a dream! Slab delivers some delicious barbecue. From tasty sides, to sweet meats, Slab was fantastic. I ordered their slab slider trio and left full and happy. My favorite was the Notorious P.I.G. The pulled pork was on another level. And don't get me started on the sauces! Simply put, the Dank White, and Gold Rush will be on my mind for some time. A rap/hip hop influence could be seen from the store design and menu item names which I thought was a cool touch! Slab, you won me over, I'll be back!
